Video Game Genres : Role Playing Game
Role-playing video games use much of the same terminology, settings and game mechanics as early pen-and-paper role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. Generally, the player controls a small number of game characters, usually called a party, and achieves victory by completing a series of quests and reaching the conclusion of a central storyline. Players explore a game world, while solving puzzles and engaging in tactical combat. A key feature of the genre is that characters grow in power and abilities, and characters are typically designed by the player. RPGs rarely challenge a player's physical coordination, with the exception of action role-playing games.
Role-playing video games typically rely on a highly developed story and setting, which is divided into a number of quests. Players control one or several characters by issuing commands, which is performed by the character at an effectiveness determined by that character's numeric attributes. Often these attributes increase each time a character gains a level, and a character's level goes up each time the player accumulates a certain amount of experience.
Role-playing video games also typically attempt to offer more complex and dynamic character interaction than what is found in other video game genres. This usually involves additional focus on the artificial intelligence and scripted behavior of computer-controlled non-player characters. (wikipedia)

Video Game Genres : Adventure
An adventure game is a video game in which the player assumes the role of protagonist in an interactive story driven by exploration and puzzle-solving instead of physical challenge. The genre's focus on story allows it to draw heavily from other narrative-based media such as literature and film, encompassing a wide variety of literary genres. Nearly all adventure games are designed for a single player, since this emphasis on story and character makes multi-player design difficult.
In the Western world, the genre's popularity peaked during the late 1980s to mid 1990s when many considered it to be among the most technically advanced genres, but it is now sometimes considered to be a niche genre. In East Asia on the other hand, adventure games continue to be popular in the form of visual novels, which make up nearly 70% of PC games released in Japan.
The term "Adventure game" originates from the 1970s computer game Adventure, which pioneered a style of gameplay that was widely imitated and became a genre in its own right. The video game genre is therefore defined by its gameplay, unlike the literary genre, which is defined by the subject it addresses, the activity of adventure.
Essential elements of the genre include storytelling, exploration, and puzzle solving. Adventure games have been described as puzzles embedded in a narrative framework, where games involve "narrative content that a player unlocks piece by piece over time". While the puzzles that players encounter through the story can be arbitrary, those that do not draw the player out of the narrative are considered examples of good design. (wikipedia)

"Ryu" in Many Games
The name "Ryu" has been used for many games as the main character.
Here are some examples :
Ryu Hayabusa in Ninja Gaiden series
According to the game canon, Ryu (lit. "dragon") Hayabusa ("falcon") is a ninja and the leader of the Dragon Ninja Clan that has spiritual, physical, and magical ties to ancient dragons. As a son of Joe Hayabusa (Ken Hayabusa in the NES Ninja Gaiden), Ryu is the current heir to the Dragon lineage and is also the holder of the legendary Dragon Sword. Although his father should carry the sword, he passed the sword to Ryu early, due to his bravery and valor. His mother was neither mentioned nor seen in any NG games, although was mentioned in the Worlds of Power novel (where she gives Ryu the letter from his father).

Disgaea 3 Will Indeed Return On PlayStation Vita As Disgaea 3 Return
by Ishaan (siliconera.com)
Last month, we reported a rumour that Nippon Ichi would be porting Disgaea 3 to the PlayStation Vita. That rumour has been confirmed by Dengeki PlayStation magazine in Japan. As previously reported, the Vita port is titled Disgaea 3 Return.
Two new characters and four new scenarios have been added to the game, and the downloadable content from the original PlayStation 3 version will be present as well. Nippon Ichi have also reportedly modified the character portraits to appear similar to those of Disgaea 4’s.
